    Hi,
I’m working with Canon 5dmk2 files which I haven’t converted to anything — just using the .mov files straight from the compact flash card.
After I export, the video is noticeably desaturated and has lost contrast.
    Here’s an example:

    Premiere Preview:

    Exported file:

I’ve played the exported file back in a few different media players to the same results.

I’m exporting to H.264. However, while setting export settings, the preview between the source and the output also looses some saturation (specifically, yellow/red hue) regardless of the codec I’m using to export. Also, not all clips are effected; some match the preview file in premiere, others don’t.

What am I doing wrong? Has anyone experienced this?

    Hi David,

This is a typical gamma issue that happens on Windows machine when the footage is played in Quicktime. My recomendation would be to use another player, such as VLC for Windows. You can do a search for gamma fix H.264, there are a few solution out there, but the problem resides within QuickTime.
