Hi Jim,

The answer is no, it is not supported.

However, there is often a confusion between video and image bit depth.

With RGB, 16 bits means per color channel. So at 16 bits per channel, that’s a total of 48 bits without an alpha channel.

This is often used for High Dynamic Range images that Photoshop can process.

In Photoshop, you can change the mode to 8 bits per channel.

Hi Jose,

You monitor has to be set to extended (not mirror), and be turned on before you start Premiere. Other than that, latest drivers is all I can think of.

I’ve used Quicktime Motion Jpeg and Animation with people who use Avid, FCP, Premiere and Vegas, no issues ever came up.

Hi Chris,

Is it a steady jerkiness, as in always skipping frames or is it intermittent. A steady issue would more likely point to drivers while intermittent issues could be some kind of a bottleneck in the system.

I would try to either roll the Quadro drivers a couple of versions back if the latest is installed.

Hi Daniel,

It’s quite possible that the project just isn’t optimized for CS5.

Have you tried deleting all the render files? Are these on the same type of drive you were using with CS3?

Hi Gabrielle,

For third party plugins, you could take a look at Magic bullet or Tiffen DFX, both work with Premiere.

After Effects has a plugin called Colorama, you could play with that as well.

I did run into your issue, replacing a master clip doesn’t get passed on to subclips (I think that’s what you mean).

Why not just send your timeline over to After Effects via dynamic link.

Andrew Kramer made a wonderful little script that make the process of getting clips back a lot easier.

Hi Mike,

If you started a project with temp folders on your C drive, it’s possible that’s it’s still saving there. You can do a search for .prv files.

A couple of areas to check:

“My Documents > Adobe”

And “Users/{Your user name}/App Data/Roaming/Adobe/”

You will need to set your folder options to “Show hidden files and Folders” in Windows control Panel to access that last one.
