Hi Neil,
You’ll need to know what the format is before you cam attempt converting it using a third party software. But you can actually convert it within VLC using the stream feature. (Convert and stream). The interlacing could be from a previous export and that probably won’t go away.
On a PC, you can also get codec information on the file using GSpot (https://www.headbands.com/gspot/)

Whatever you edit in your original sequence should show up if the collapsed version right away.

From memory, I hold command (Mac) or Control (PC) and double click on any clip in that sequence.
That should open the original multicam sequence.

We just DA from the generator to each camera and deck separately, but you should be able to loop as well. The loop may be a issue out the the BM units though.

Hi Tim,
A timecode generator/DA is what we use. Beware of looping, I know some BM products don’t play well and require a DA to each device.

With AVCHD, you don’t have much of a choice. If you change your sequence editing mode to custom and keep the same setting, you could choose Prores instead as a preview file format.
Not sure what version you are on, but that could also be related to the mp4 export bug that popped up in CC 2014 and they are working on a fix for that.

Hi Elizabeth,
Is 300k a requirement? For a good quality mp4, you would be looking at around 15Mb/s, especially if you have a lot of motion.

Now I’m seeing what you are talking about, and your sequence settings are fine. I think that’s probably an effect of rendering the sequence and your preview format. Enable the work area bar (Top right menu in your sequence panel). Make a small work area and delete the preview render files in your work area. Any difference in the non rendered area?
The next step would be to check if those artifacts are showing up in your export and are they showing up without any effects or layers above?

Your program is definitely zoomed in more, which means you may be scaling the footage?
Can you post a couple of screenshot showing your sequence showing and footage settings?

That would make sense. If the license is in some kind of trial version, you would likely be missing quite a few sequence presets.
