  • how to expand source sequence from ‘multicam mode’ sequence to make minor edit?

hi! I shot a belly dance show. I synchronized picture to audio old school by ear before I realized premiere pro cc can do it automatically.

Because I already had it all synchronized, I felt forced to skip the multicam textbook source/target setup steps that include ‘synch’ and instead selected the relevant AV tracks in timeline and nested them to enable multicam so my multicam sequence does not bear a multicam icon. Still, it enabled me to multi-cam edit the whole show switching on the fly like a charm. (Q1: Is there a difference between the two types of multicam sequences or are they essentially the same?)

At the last second, I realized one source sequence in the middle was matched to an off beat so I needed to go into the source and shift the audio track. (Q2: How do I do that?)

I read that I press Ctrl+Shift+F where you want to open the source sequence in the Timeline panel. This did open a separate set of expanded tracks as expected so I made the quick edit and saved changes. I thought I was done, but when I play back my multicam sequence, even after closing/opening Pr I do not see those changes.

Q3 What am I doing wrong? Is it a bug? Are the sequences unrelated?

From memory, I hold command (Mac) or Control (PC) and double click on any clip in that sequence.

That should open the original multicam sequence.

it does expand and I made the edit and verified it sounds great. but how do I get the edit to show up in multicam collapsed sequence after saving? it wont do it.

Whatever you edit in your original sequence should show up if the collapsed version right away.

the song tracks I laid in separately are the culprit, the ‘non-camera audio’ that did not get included in the ‘nest’. all solved thanks.
