Syncing Time Code
A timecode question for the group.
We will be using 3 Sony PMW 350’s and 2 PMW 400’s to BMD Hyperdeck Studio 2’s
This will not be a switched event.
How can I sync the timecode going into the Hyperdecks?

Hi Tim,
A timecode generator/DA is what we use. Beware of looping, I know some BM products don’t play well and require a DA to each device.

Let me ask you. Would the signal flow then be that of TC generator/dist-amp to each camera TC-in, then each cameras HD/SDI out to the record decks??Tim

We just DA from the generator to each camera and deck separately, but you should be able to loop as well. The loop may be a issue out the the BM units though.
