A bit of getting used to yes. If one can continue to add points between what looks to be the Shadows, Midtones & Highlights markers. Like the Hue, Saturation & Luma Curves in Apple Color, this can be very powerful color tool inside FCP.
Thanks for the post. Looking forward to the release.Victor

I had sort of a similar problem when the Audio Video Settings audio playback selector was changed to line out instead of my AJA Kona.
In FCP’s Audio Video Settings – make sure the Audio Playback selector is designating your card as the output device.
Hope that helps,

Oops! Yes 4 drive raid. I also have 2 of them. An 8TB for editing and a 4TB for temp backup of finished media managed projects before I take the media entirely off the system. Will look into the FirmTek SeriTek/2ME4-E card.
ThanksVictor

on one of my systems I have a 5 drive raid from OWC connected to eSata via a Cal Digit Fasta 2E card in a Raid 5 config. It has been rock solid for over 3 years editing footage from P2, DVCPro, XDCam, HDV, & DV.
The drive also has Firewire 800, but I have never used the 800 port for editing.https://eshop.macsales.com/shop/hard-drives/RAID/Desktop/
hope that helps

What Blackmagic card do you have. Some of their lower end cards only play a minimal number of 1080p signals. What is the setting output on your Blackmagic card. If you see an SD signal with FCP in HD then you might have the card in SD display mode in the cards preferences, regardless of what is set in FCP.
FCP sets what signal is sent out to the card. The card sets what signal is sent out to your external monitor.
Hope that helps.

Have you tried adding the shift fields filter to the reversed speed clips? This should help minimize the flickering. If you are viewing your timeline only on the computer monitor, it is difficult to see any flickering until you master and view on a TV monitor.

My guess is that Final Cut Studio 3 will still be relevant for some time as some others have mentioned. If you look at some of the FCPX screen shots you can see that all the music in the Demo Audi Project is currently available in Soundtrack Pro.

April 27, 2011 at 2:59 pm in reply to: Prepping Multiple Sequences for Broadcast Safe VideoHere is another just in FCP. You still need to go through your footage and correct first.
Hope this helps.https://library.creativecow.net/biscardi_walter/BCM-FCP-Tip-6/1
