Not to mention upgrading 2 of our 6 suites to MacPros from G5s just to keep all systems running on the same Final Cut Studio 3 software. I am sure backwards compatibility of projects will not be available as before.
Wonder what percentage of users will need to upgrade their machines and Kona Cards as well. You could look at it as a boost to the economy. Well Hopefully.

Arrow up will jump the playhead to a previous edit
Arrow Down will jump the playhead to the next editIf you select an edit point with the mouse (lets say on V1) and arrow down. The playhead will jump only to the next edit on V1 regardless of how many edits come before it on other Video & Audio tracks.
Not sure of what you mean by Opposite of Subclip.

It was probably intentional. Just feeding the frenzy. I wonder how many people have clicked on the buy now button to see if its link is now correct. I for one am guilty.

I love Apples secrecy. Most vendors on the web still selling FCS-2 at its current price. Glad the new Version is here, but surprised it was released before Snow Leopard.

You can also move Markers forward in the timeline by placing the playhead just ahead of the marker you want to move and pressing:
Shift-`
thats the icon next to the number 1 under the escape key
Another thing I like is placing the playhead to the right of a marker and pressing:

You can highlight all your clips on the timeline and drop the Timecode Reader Filter on them.
Video Filters > Video > Timecode ReaderA timecode window should appear on the screen and reference each individual Clips timecode. Render > Master to tape or export a QT.
hope that helps

I used this once and it was very useful, although there was a bit of lag, and it also depends on if the client likes such practice.

I also upload a compressed view copy to my websites private link for clients to screen. They can also save the view copy to their desktops to share with others involved. I usually place a VERY LARGE date stamp at the header to avoid any confusion as to which is the latest version downloaded to their desktop.

Are you absolutely sure there is no media or renders on your System Drive? A right click on your Sequence in the bin, Reconnect Media will show you a list of where all the media and renders are on your machine.
While we were in the process of moving to a new facility all our XDCam projects were edited off of our local drives and firewire 800 drives for over 2 months. Barely a hick-up we were amazed we were able to Master and Version various projects during that time.

July 16, 2009 at 2:57 pm in reply to: Best Way of Adding an Overall Color Tone in Final Cut 6?Although Color’s workflow is different from that found inside FCP with its prep work, sometimes major depending on the projects effects, number of slow-mos, stills, etc… It was only when I dove into Color while working on an independent project and watching Walter Biscardi’s DVD on Color that I was able to learn it. And now I use it whenever possible and I believe it makes my projects standout even more.
All the above answers for the question are doable, and I will try the matte layer composite, it does seem much easier than sending to Color and faster when one is in a pinch, but just like FCP there are a number of ways to do an insert edit, some easier and some more difficult. I all depends on your workflow and time constraints.
