July 23, 2009 at 5:03 pmThe What’s new PDF does give some detail on DVDSP 4.
But what’s interesting is that Compressor has support for Blu-Ray.
Quote…
Blu-ray disc and DVD burning. You can now easily burn a Blu-ray disc3 or a DVD directly from Compressor. Quickly add a menu to your disc by choosing one of the beautiful Apple-designed HD or SD templates or, to achieve a specific look, import and use third-party or custom templates.
The chapter on DVDSP does not mention blu-ray, however.

July 23, 2009 at 5:05 pmApple had a New Features window earlier today that didn’t mention DVD Studio Pro, it didn’t even display the icon. It must have been a mistake. Weird.

July 23, 2009 at 5:09 pmDVDSP has no new features. I don’t think it is a dead product just a stalled one. Since DVD authoring really hasn’t changed there is not to much that can be done, other than some fine tuning that would be nice. The only other way it can be improved is to make it a more spec oriented tool which means harder to learn and author but more control, only a few people want that.

July 23, 2009 at 5:13 pmIt was probably intentional. Just feeding the frenzy. I wonder how many people have clicked on the buy now button to see if its link is now correct. I for one am guilty.

July 23, 2009 at 5:25 pmI agree!
What more do you need from DVDSP? Other than BD authoring support(which will never happen) there aren’t alot of changes to be made!
Like Mike said, a spec level version would be great but that would make authoring too difficult for most.

July 23, 2009 at 6:12 pmI think the fact that BluRay was put into Compressor speaks to the fact it is not doing to find it’s way into DVDSP.
The only feature I would it an automated layer break reference. Press a button and it tells you you can put the layer break between x and x.
