Thanks – theoretically that makes sense, but how do I actually do that? Sorry, but I haven’t done any complicated projects before!
Thank you!

Why, thank you! Your suggestion was most appreciated.

However, I have just discovered that if you save the effect on the adjustment layer (a curves one in this case) as a .ACV file, and then in PS make a new adj. layer and load a preset, it works, although the colour of the PS file is slightly different to the AE file.

November 23, 2006 at 8:55 am in reply to: Why am I constantly linking files whenever I open a project?!It doesn’t happen when the project it just closed then reopened, without shutting the computer down.
If I rename folders, it also does it, but just once for each folder. The network drives disconnect on shutting the computer down, but I reconnect them before opening Premiere, although this doesn’t make any difference to whether the files on the network drives need locating.
It doesn’t help to import the project into another project.
If only Premiere was as good at file management as After Effects!
Thanks for the help.

I have tried this, but it appears that the hub is the problem because this only works if one of the decks is off. It seems that the hub choses one deck in prefenrence to the other, and so the both are not given the same output, just one is.
Any ideas?
Which FW hub do you use for this? Thanks,
Victoria -
Ok. Is there any splitter that you would recommend that will send the same signal to two Sony DSR-11 decks? The one I’m trying to use at the moment is a Belkin Firewire 6 port Hub, but it doesn’t replicate the signal to both decks.
Thanks,

June 27, 2006 at 2:33 pm in reply to: Breakout to Mono Clips goes horribly wrong in PP2Hi Alex,
Sorry for having not replied for a while. I’ve had another look at the project, and they haven’t had ‘Fill Left’ and ‘Fill Right’ put on to centre them. I think that in this project, they were just broken out to mono clips, and put on the same timeline. This seems to have panned the audio to the centre, rather than hard left and right.
I’m still in the dark about what causes this, as we have tried deleting the Conformed Audio folders etc with other projects, but the problem did not replicate.
Never mind. In future, we will remap the source channels, so that we an edit each one seperately, without having to breakout to mono clips.
Thanks for all your help though!

Just import the mpg, and it should take a while to do it’s generating the peak file thing and then it’s there.
I did this last week, and thought there was no audio either, but once it has generated the peak file it’s fine.
Choose the biggest file in the Video_TS folder too, just to make sure it’s the right one. It’s also an idea to copy the files off the DVD to your HD, because sometimes it doesn’t work if you try and do it straight from the DVD (sorry if you’ve already done that, and I’ve been really patronising!)
Hope that helps,
Victoria
