  • Audio Tracks in Scenarist

    Hi,

I am trying to author a DVD in Scenarist where, on the title menu, there is an option to play the video track without an audio commentary, or with it.

I have imported both audio streams into the video track, but I cannot figure out how to make the “play with audio commentary” button play the video with the audio 2 track.

Can anyone tell me how to do this, or have any suggestions on how to change the menu structure so I can?

    Many thanks,
    Victoria

There are several different way to do the same thing in Scenarist but this is the way I do it:

Since your in the VMG, you can’t set the audio stream from there. I’d give a register a value depending on which button was chosen. Then set the stream playback in the Pre-Command of the PGC which contains the movie based on the value of the register.

That’s what I’d recommend as well. Except if you want to track your setting when jumping back and forth within VMG, I’d write variable, set stream in the post-command of your menu, and enforce the setting again in the pre-command of your title PGC.

Thanks – theoretically that makes sense, but how do I actually do that? Sorry, but I haven’t done any complicated projects before!

    Thank you!

In your button commands do this:
    1. Mov GPRM 1, 0, link indirect, post-command of this PGC
    2. Mov GPRM 1, 1, link indirect, post-command of this PGC

GPRM 1 not effectively carries your setting.

In the post-command of that PGC (your menu), do this:
    1. Set audio stream to GPRM 1, link to title

In the pre-command of your title PGC, do this:

    1. Set audio stream to GPRM 1
