I appreciate the DVD files have already been compressed and will be again by the time I’ve finished with them….this is what I’m trying to minimise…as the footage is worth it and this is news!. My options in Vegas 6 are…file>import>media…AAF or Broadcast Wave. I dont seem to have the DVD Camcorder Disc option.

Many thanks for your ‘in depth reply’…but it begs the question…if “Progressive gives you higher quality” then why do we ever bother about Interlaced?

japanese clients require Interlaced 60i. My other clients in UK or USA may require different. What is the difference?.

…..and make sure you use white (3200k or 5600K) backlight on your subject when shooting, to avoid green spillage from your backdrop….

Many Thanks Gary….works a treat. Might you also know why, when I have converted a DVD to AVI (25 PAL) to re edit in Vegas, the audio sync is out?
