Problem seems to be…Im using a Sony camcorder and firewire socket is marked ‘DV-OUT’ not ‘DV-IN/OUT’
So it seems not all Sony Cameras accept firewire IN.

OK…You’re gonna tell from this I’m a cameraman and not an Engineer. I have a little ENG Monitor SONY PVM something or other (PAL) with BNC input. Is it going to be easier for me to use that for my video quality control. Can I get from S-Video or Firewire from computer with less trouble than trying to use Sony Trinitron TV?.
