Connect TV to Computer
Posted by Vegasarian on April 15, 2006 at 4:20 pmCan anyone run this thicko thro the process of connecting a TV to computer in order to look after my vegas colour balance. I have connected to S video output of nvidia Geforce graphics card and into scart socket of Sony TV. On computer start up I get occasional glimpses of computer on the TV screen in black and white. (Wondering if this might be an NTSC/PAL problem as I write this). Sony TV is PAL. I notice also that the picture on the TV has become skewed since connecting to computer, both in AV and TV mode.

April 15, 2006 at 4:42 pmYou could go video out from firewire, through a deck/camcorder, and use the deck/cam’s video out to go to the tv. Just make sure you have your settings and preferences correct to output video from firewire.

April 16, 2006 at 4:48 amOK…You’re gonna tell from this I’m a cameraman and not an Engineer. I have a little ENG Monitor SONY PVM something or other (PAL) with BNC input. Is it going to be easier for me to use that for my video quality control. Can I get from S-Video or Firewire from computer with less trouble than trying to use Sony Trinitron TV?.

April 17, 2006 at 9:55 amMy TV Monitor is connected to a Canopus ADVC-100 analog/digital converter, then via firewire to the computer. No problems. Works fine. However my set-up is NTSC.
If I need to capture analog from a VHS tape, then I connect a VHS machine to the front of the ADVC-100.
Simple procedure.

Problem seems to be…Im using a Sony camcorder and firewire socket is marked ‘DV-OUT’ not ‘DV-IN/OUT’
So it seems not all Sony Cameras accept firewire IN.
