I have a client that has a web site where their clients may communicate with them. ON the site there are choices (buttons) depending upon what their client wants to do. I need to show the site and the mouse pointing to different parts of it…in other words how it would look to their clients on their screen as a demonstration of the active page. This would be similar to one of Gary’s instructional videos that are showing different parts of Vegas. How is this done? I’m using Vegas 4. Thanks in advance.

If you just need still captures, this is built into Windows (Print Screen button).

For animated capture, you need a screen capture program such as Camtasia.

…..and make sure you use white (3200k or 5600K) backlight on your subject when shooting, to avoid green spillage from your backdrop….

Gary I think just the still of their main page would be fine and I could use Vegas editing to highlite certain parts of the screen. I went to the web site and pushed my “print scr” button on my keyboard but nothing seemed to happen. Also I need it in a file to bring it into Vegas right? The computer I use Vegas with is not connected to the internet. What would the steps be to accomplish this? Thanks.

Try downloading XnView. I use it for screen captures. A fellow forum member told me about it and I have used it quite a bit.

[Michael O’Connor] “pushed my “print scr” button on my keyboard but nothing seemed to happen.”

Hitting Print Screen stores a capture of your desktop into your buffer.
Open a document in a paint program, hit Ctrl/v and it will paste in.
Alt/PrintScreen captures just the active window.
