What if you run an average video studio cabled to a machineroom ?
There is a calibrated production monitor to evaluate and there are editing monitors to work with.
I was sooo shure it would work for DVDSP 4 to get the video signal to my Sony.
    Arrggghhhh ! Sh*** ! F**** !

You can switch “n” (snap) anytime on/off while dragging a clip around. It’s quite comfortable.

Guess he means the multicam feature which comes with FCP 5.
Just press a number on the keypad and he’s done.

It’s very relaxing but will take a few days to get comfortable with.
It’s not precise enough for moving tiny faders or color-correction.
I’d recommend an additional trackball for this.
And if you work on multiple monitors you’ll need a big Wacom to map the monitors to it.
I have an Intuos 2 (A4) for 3 monitors but for 2 screens an A5 is fine. The tiny tablets are too small in my opinion.

    Hello Gabriel,
you have a severe workflow problem from the beginning.
Did you digitize your DAT audio into FCP ? If the quality is quite okay I’d export OMF-files for sound-post. Even with redigitizing you will experience glitches and stuff ’cause I don’t think that your DAT has been locked to any reference when you digitized it.
Tell us how you digitized it: analog or digital input ?
An OMF export might solve all your problems.

Why not make a patchpanel on your own ?
Decklink SDI in / SDI out, Deck 1 SDI in / SDI out, Deck 2 SDI in / SDI out.
All BNC connectors. Will cost you 50 $ or so.

Just did a consolidate from 2 sequences at a clients system.
    Copied media, trimmed unused a.s.o…..
Now I do have a different edit AGAIN. FCP changed the opacity of some clips to 0% and I have to fix the complete edit by hand.
That’s what I meant. MediaManager is not reliable in FCP 4.5. AVIDs MediaTool is reliable.

So You have to decide between FCP 4.5 and Adrenaline.
Money is not important…….you want to start working right away…..a company will install the complete system for you….
    I’d go Adrenaline. No question.

    Hi tomas,
could you ask this again in a few weeks when the FinalCut Suite has been delivered ?
I was told at an NAB post event that APPLE has worked on media management a lot.
This will be the first thing to check when it arrives.
If MM has been improved the suite package is a huge step.
Motion’s MIDI control (and 32bit float) are quite exciting for example.

    Greetings
