I never do it – but I’m conservative in this respect.
    1) Days or weeks of work are printed to a final mastertape: I sit and watch.
    2) It’s your responsibility as an editor to deliver a clean master: I sit and watch.
    3) I do not trust FinalCutPro at all when it is editing to tape.
    Just my opinion.

I’m having sync problems with my DLpro since 4.8 as well here. I’m sending SDI through an SDconnect box and it looses sync after 60-70 minutes. It didn’t do that with 4.7.
    Oh – I’m in PAL.

    Hi Richard,
thanks for your hint. Tried it right away but can’t make it work on my Mac and AE 6.5. Which version do you use (I only have CF 1.5 that comes bundled with AE Pro).
Would be too good to make it work somehow.

    Greetings

The versions I tested didn’t do any realtime from FCP at all. After pressing the o.k.-button inside the CF plugin you could see the results.
I’m looking for a better coco myself. There is “Final Touch” from SiliconColor at about 5000$.

Thinking about purchasing it too 🙂

I think it is too hard to say it is totally useless.
Fine for normal work, but you cannot do dedicated scene-by-scene color correction jobs with clients in your neck.
Maybe BMD just hadn’t thought about it up to now.

    Hi Adam,
I understand what you mean, and it is fine to know the reason for this behaviour – but it doesn’t make it better to work with. Correct, render, correct, render…..
Doesn’t make sense in my opinion and I don’t know this from other systems (the A..D stuff) I worked on. Kind of “Almost near realtime aproximately WYSIWUG color correction”
It’s hard to explain to clients who’ve been in a Symphony or Pogle before (well – they paid way more money there…)

I’ve posted the same ’cause I have the same problems in PAL.
ColorCorrection is a joke. Trial & Error.
Image/Wireframe or Overlays didn’t help me here.
Had no other reactions, responses, tips from BMD.

Media Management, Media Management and if there’s still time left: the Media Management could be more reliable.
