  • Aux TC Reel number in an EDL

Is there any way that an EDL can reflect an AUX Reel Number? We logged all the DAT timecode into our shots (adding AUX TC and Reel names for 100s of shots), only to find out that we couldn’t get EDLs to export AUX reel names. It seems to export the AUX timecode just fine, but not its matching reel names. This is going to make it impossible for our audio post team to recapture from our DAT tapes.

There must be a way of getting AUX reel names into the EDL.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Hello Gabriel,
you have a severe workflow problem from the beginning.
Did you digitize your DAT audio into FCP ? If the quality is quite okay I’d export OMF-files for sound-post. Even with redigitizing you will experience glitches and stuff ’cause I don’t think that your DAT has been locked to any reference when you digitized it.
Tell us how you digitized it: analog or digital input ?
An OMF export might solve all your problems.

    Greetings
    Uwe
