They should be good for hundreds of thousands. I’ve shot time-lapse on a relatively cheap Canon S45 amounting to about 160,000 frames by now – it’s still alive…

For stop-motion animation there’s an excellent program called iStopMotion from http://www.boinx.com .

You need to use a better codec than DV in your sequence, like ProRes or uncompressed. If it’s still set to DV you’ll loose any improvements.
BTW, the filters from Graeme Nattress are better than the one in FCP.

Slo-mo is simple with a film camera or a specialized (but expensive) video recording device just recording faster than the intended speed of projection.

It’s a very complex process in software after the fact if you don’t have more frames per second than standard speed! Only in recent years the advances in software technology and computer speed have made any slo-mo possible that mimicks the real thing to some degree.

Don’t touch it if you use After Effects!
I had to revert to my backup I fortunately made before trying. Seems to work with FCS (well,it better shoud!), but I did no extended tests after my shock with AE

While we have done tites like that for world-wide distribution, I need to pour some water in the wine.

Even if ALL players in Europe can handle DVDs in NTSC, not all TVs will accept the signal,in particular older ones. Some may flicker, some may go to black and white and very rare cases not show any picture.

So, I’d add a little bit of explanation on the sleeve.

Which kind of artefacts are you experiencing? I hope you understand that it’s not easy to get from 30p to 60i.

There’s DVCPro25 and DVCPro50. The latter comes pretty close to DigiBeta.

If it’s originally 24p, Cinema Tools will help to just re-conform it (like flipping a speed switch on a projector in the old times). Fast and perfect quality, but you’ll need to speed up the sound too.

Graeme’s filters do a great job for interlaced material and are much faster than compressor.
