There are 2 Media tabs. There is the one next to the layers tab that shows you all the Media currently being used on the project. Then there is the Media tab in the Inspector that shows the the properties for that specific piece of media.

The only “Fixed Resolution” checkbox I see is in the Inspector’s Media tab, and it only shows up when the layer is a 2D group.

Checked or Unchecked, I get the same results.

Nevermind. I found it. It only shows up when you work wiht a 2D group.

Unfortunately, I’m still getting the jagged edges. As a vector graphic, the image should be just as sharp at 900% as it is a 100%.

I think I should just stick with AE for this.

Thank you for the advice, but I don’t see a “Fixed Resolution” checkbox. Where is it?

On which version of Symphony Nitris? I’m on 1.6.4.

Will it do it on the fly? Is there a special setting to make it do that? Because the Digital Cut tool is what it is. There is no option for up convert.

Yes. There are workflow examples in the manual. If you tell me the specifics of your project, I would be happy to offer more advice.

Will the Offline RT give me 640×480 resolution? That’s kind of an issue for me, but whatever graphics are created, need to be created at native resolution since you don’t up-res them. Also, editing anything 320×240 is a big pain.

    What do you think?

There is a lot to consider when working with a project shot on film. Are you finishing on film? Are you finishing to video? If the latter, then you don’t even have to use Cinema Tools, and you can digitize into Final Cut like you would with any other video project. If you are finishing to film, and you need Cinema Tools to track your video edits’ relationship to the physical film, then you need to have a clear understanding of the technical complexities of this process.

If I were you, I would study the Cinema Tools Manual VERY closely. Read it a couple of times and gain a clear understanding of what you’re doing. THEN get into your editing. This is a process that you cannot afford to mess up along the way.

    Best of luck.

This answers my question completely. Thank you for a thorough response.

Currently, when I’m laying to tape, I’m not getting any distortion in the video. However, I am getting some digital junk and jumpiness in the image when dubbing from deck to deck (I’m currently going through an old SDI switch, so I’m about to try patching straight in to see if that fixes it).

What I suppose I don’t understand is, what is the BB Gen doing? Would I plug it into the REF IN on the deck or the LOOP on the IO?
