OK, good to know. Must be a bug in 8.x. Bad thing is … if I save … I get the “new” version of the Sony Media event. Hope this remains “fixed” when 10.x releases. Thanks John.

I ran into this same issue and think I’ve found out what my issue was … wrong HD format.
HD #1 NTFS, Quick Time 7.5.x
a. Render As, Quick Time 7, Video Format = PNG, Compressed Depth = 32 bpp
works fineHD #2 FAT32, Quick Time 7.5.x
b. Render As, Quick Time 7, Video Format = PNG, Compressed Depth = 32 bpp
fail … Render As goes to 100% and no .mov file is createdHD #2 FAT32, Quick Time 7.6.7
c. Render As, Quick Time 7, Video Format = PNG, Compressed Depth = 32 bpp
fail … Render As goes to 100% and no .mov file is createdHD #1 NTFS, Quick Time 7.6.7
d. Render As, Quick Time 7, Video Format = PNG, Compressed Depth = 32 bpp
works fineI made multiple attempts and here’s what I found:
.veg file HD, rendered file HD, result
NTFS, NTFS, success
NTFS, FAT32, success
FAT32, NTFS, success
FAT32, FAT32, failI tried uninstalling/installing various versions of QT and always ran into a Render As failure. The common denominator was the old FAT32 secondary HD. Solution is to only use NTFS. QT must not like FAT32. I did not at any point uninstall/reinstall Vegas.
Kinda weird … can anybody verify?
Thanks,

jpgs are typically 2x DVD.
4G RAM.
Background image is 2D, the remaining 10 are in 3D, some are cropped, some use a mask. All have different levels of opacity.Know I’m pushing Vegas hard. I did something like this for last year’s Christmas card, but not at 2x HD res. Created a card that almost filled the entire 6×4″ page, added the greeting on the bottom. Put Vegas Preview in Best, Full and saved as an image. Uploaded the image to Costco and had them print it (without one of their pre-made backgrounds). Turned out very cool.
I wanted to create another image but this time use it inside Vegas.
Thanks John. -
Just jpgs. Project is custom template (3820 x 2160). Vegas 8.1 (64 bit). When setting Preview at Best, window shows all red.

Yup, found it late last night. Must’ve unclicked it. Thanks.

Works (now) for me too. I just tried “rofrano” and got a bunch of hits too. I swear it wasn’t working this morning though …

August 24, 2009 at 4:25 am in reply to: JOHN ROFANO/ editing avchd 32bit, or 64 operating sysI think John will give you the definitive answer, but … when I upgraded to 64-bit Vegas, I noticed at least a 15% increase in rendering speed versus a 32-bit version. So, faster processor plus 64-bit should yield a very nice bump in performance for you.

No, NestProjA and NestProjB have NO trimming, compression, reversing. They have Media, Track Motion and Pan/Crop events. They play in the “same time”, only the Media and events are different.
ParentProjX uses NestProjA. NestProjA is trimmed into clips, some are reversed, almost all have some compression. The problem is that Replace swaps out NestProjA.veg – subclip 1 (reversed) with NestProjB.veg. Thus, I end up with two NestProjB.veg references in the Project Media.

I found a solution. I had to take all the Reversed clips and un-Reverse ’em. Verify that there’s no reference to the * – subclip 1 (reversed) item in View Edit Details (alt-6).
Now do the Replace. There’s nothing referencing the * – subclip 1 (reversed) item so delete it from Project Media. Now go back and Reverse the clips.
Everything plays as it should and NestProjA has been swapped with NestProjB.
