    Looks like you need 2 tracks. Put the smaller one on top. If the project is 1920×1080, then use Track Motion to set the upper to approximately 768×432 (or thereabouts).

    I had completely forgotten about that Vegas color picker. Using the USC website (I presume they have the right colors on their own page) USC red is 153, 0, 0. USC gold is 255, 204, 0.

    In fact, to get a college/university colors or pro team (NFL, NBA, MLB, …), it is probably easiest/best to go their site and use the color picker to grab the actual RGB values as opposed to relying on a wiki page which may or may not be correct.

    I asked my Trojan friend (grad) and she thinks it is too pink so I will use 153,0,0.
    Once again … thanks much!

    Just out of curiousity, how often does vegas write to:
    C:\Users\[userName]\AppData\Local\Sony\Vegas Pro\10.0 !?!?!?

    I tried renaming (eg)
    00001128.autosave.veg.bak

    to
    00001128.autosave.veg

    and was able to open it with Vegas 10c.

    Another way to get around this is to do your work using SUBSTituted drives. Instead of using the physical drive letter, use a SUBST-d one. E.g.,

    T:\: => H:\MyStuff\Temp
    V:\: => I:\MyStuff\Core
    W:\: => I:\MyStuff\Work
    X:\: => H:\MyStuff\External

    Here, the work is split over 2 HDs using 4 different SUBST drives. You could plug H and I into a different machine, or copy them to different HDs and plug those into a different machine, etc. As long as you reSUBST T:, V:, W:, X: properly on the new machine, Vegas will find all your files.

    You can run the View Minimize command again (uncheck) and it sort-of undo-es it. The problem is … tracks that were previously minimized (and I have a lot sometimes) are then opened. It doesn’t revert the UI back to its state before the command (which is what it should do).

    As I have projects with parent-child tracks, tracks set to various heights (for specific reasons), some tracks minimized, some tracks just tall enough so I can see the track motion chevrons … Minimize All is just a STOOPID command unless there’s a way to undo it.

    Just my two angry cents …

    Thanks John.

    Would this also be an acceptable way to shorten render times? Ie, render (a portion) to .mov and use that in lieu of the original content in the parent .veg file? Any downsides (loss of video quality)?

    But that apparently negates the get “one of the five free” items such as Sony Pictures Sound Effects Vol. 1-5 (Download .zip). So, it is cheaper to get Vegas 10 and the free item from Sony and PA2 from Amazon.
