Welcome to the Creative Cow Audio Forum!
Hmm, not familiar with DaVinci Resolve. Have you tried this?:

Maybe the DaVinci tool s not up to the challenge. Have you tried the VLC Media Player?

Are you using PluralEyes with DaVinci Resolve?

Hello Rafael and welcome to the Cow Audio Forum,
Bring the file into Audacity (it’s a free download). Mess with the stereo/mono and bit-depth controls, along with sample rate. You might make it work!!!

  • Hello Reshmina and welcome to the Cow Audio Forum.

That’s quite a challenge. I have two possible solutions. With six people talking, consider rent a Shure 8-channel auto-mixer: https://tinyurl.com/5yfedntt

and hardwired Countryman E6 headset mics for all guests and the host. https://bhpho.to/3PesLWj

Here’s why. Talk show guests typically don’t understand how vital it is to stay on mic. You can tell them (as I have many times before a show) and they nod and appear to get it. As soon as the show starts, they’re all over the place. Using an ear-mounted mic may feel weird to them for about a minute but they’ll soon forget about it and will always be on mic. Get someone to help each person put the mic on.

The second problem is mic leakage with that many mics open. Mic leakage is when one person’s voice gets into the other mics and sounds super “roomy.” The Shure 810 automatically closes mics that aren’t in use and has a circuit that keeps the total output level the same, regardless of how may people speak at once. It’s also helpful to have a person with gifted ears to raise or lower individual mics just a little bit to even things out.

Best of luck and do let us know how that worked for you.

That’s great. Thanks for reporting back for the rest of us!

Just for the heck of it, you might try panning one mic only and recording 2 or 4 tracks, then listen to the other three to see if there’s any bleed from the one track.

Thanks, James, I don’t have any rememberable experience with the Canon 70D. Here’s my new barrage of questions. Does the TASCAM have individual meters, one for each track? Do they change independently when you adjust levels? Can you plug the TASCAM into something else to confirm level changes? Is there something deep in the bowls of the Canon 70D that combines the two inputs? Canon it be overridden in the Canon menus?

Hello James and welcome to the Cow Audio Forum.
I don’t know the Tascam 70D, but I’m guessing the answer you’re looking for is buried in the menus. Maybe this link will be of help. Please let us know what you find.

June 17, 2022 at 3:17 pm in reply to: Microphone for iPhone

Hello John and welcome to the Cow Audio Forum. Is this just for dialog? Will he also be recording video or will this just be for audio recordings? If he’s doing video, I’d suggest a wireless mic so he can be close to the mic but have the flexibility to put the iPhone wherever he needs to to get a good shot/frame.

I don’t know what an E2 Evolution Lab pack is.
Yes, get a headset mic so it’s closer to your mouth.
    Good luck!

Hello Nelson and welcome to the Cow Audio Forum. Saramonic is an up and coming manufacturer. You sound like you’re doing more than one thing. Where do you want this line input and why?
If you’ll be talking while showing woodworking skills, I’d suggest something like a Countryman E6 microphone. Here’s the version with the XLR connector. https://bhpho.to/3NorT1l

If you choose a device that doesn’t have an XLR input, Countryman makes a long list of accessories that include many different cables with different connectors.
