Microphone for iPhone
Posting for a friend who has no audio or visual experience, but is doing a very interesting project which he wants to record, vlog style, on his iPhone. It’s construction, outdoors, busy, messy.
Someone else will edit it into a short video.
I told him he needs a really simple setup with a dedicated mic, ideally fixed to the phone. Probably with automatic gain level. A good quality, easy to use point and shoot without wires.
Does anyone have an idea if this is actually possible??

Hello John and welcome to the Cow Audio Forum. Is this just for dialog? Will he also be recording video or will this just be for audio recordings? If he’s doing video, I’d suggest a wireless mic so he can be close to the mic but have the flexibility to put the iPhone wherever he needs to to get a good shot/frame.
