Used to create insrtumental beds for radio and TV spots when I worked in radio. I liked starting with a full track from a library of production music; maybe 2-3 minutes for a 30 second spot. Making a longer piece shorter by time compressing it is less problematic because you&#8217;re taking away minute sections.</p>

The Audio-Technica AT 8040 ribbon mic, which uses Phantom Power to enable an onboard amp, is several dB more sensitive than an AKG C414 condenser mic.  Here&#8217;s my review from some years ago.</p>

You&#8217;d want Lithiums, not Alkalines, for sure, or even better an external battery pack or AC power supply. <br />It&#8217;s not easy to mix on, because of the diminutive size of the knobs and their placement, so why even go there? <br />Battery life on a mixer also depends on the current drain&hellip;</p>

My experience with noise reduction is that it&#8217;s sometimes better to do two or more lighter passes than to try to get the audio clean all in one shot. </p>
