Hello everyone! Could anyone please tell me why some of my ADR audio clips, which I stretched to fit the lip synch, were thereby corrupted with excess reverb?

Yes, I had remembered to click the “maintain audio pitch” box. It seems I must now remove the speed fx and then try to synch them in Audition, but since there are many of them, I wonder if there might be an easier solution (like removing the reverb, maybe?). As you can see I don’t know much about working with audio. Your advice will be much appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Bob and welcome to the Cow Audio Forum. I’ve never tried to do that. If you were stretching, than the computer had to throw something in there. Can you please post an example or send me one at tyford@tyford.com?

    Thanks,

I don’t know why you’re getting reverb when you stretch the clips. For ADR, I’ve always used ReVoice Pro. It’s simple. Place the original clip on a guide track in ReVoice then the ADR clip on another track in ReVoice. ReVoice exactly conforms the ADR to the guide track. You can make the match “looser” if exact sounds wrong. It adjusts timing & pitch perfectly.

Thank you very much, John. I’ll look into Revoice. Merry Christmas!

Thank you very much, Ty! Is there an easy way I can send you the audio clip? I actually tried to copy and paste it but it seems it’s not that easy. Do I need to export it? If so, what export settings should I use, please? Thanks.

    Hi Bob,
That’s not reverb, that’s what’s called delay. Still doesn’t tell me why, but something is out of line. Or you have the original and the altered version both playing at the same time.

Try Undoing what you’ve done and try again.

Using your info I searched with the word “delay” (which someone else called “phasing”). I found a partial remedy from someone who said to do the speed effect with the “maintain audio pitch” box unchecked, and then fix the pitch with AUpitch. It worked but the results are a little scratchy. I wonder if NewAUpitch would be better. Any ideas?

Phasing is a little different. Your double tracks are not really close enough to call it phasing. I do not use Adobe Audition. I suggest you try their online support.
