September 26, 2016 at 8:51 am in reply to: Speed variation in a 2d roller coasterThere are several ways of doing this, but my favorite one is to animate at constant speed, pre-compose and then apply Time Remap on the pre-comped layer. Now you have the ability to set keyframes where you want the speed changes to occur and shift those around to get the desired effect. It takes a few tries at first untilo you get used to the way Time Remap works but after that it’s a breeze.
Pre-compositing the initial animation and applying Time Remap to that allows for AE to render real frames instead of blending existing frames ( as in the case of Time Remap on a rendered layer).Tudor \”Ted\” Jelescu

For error code interpretation myleniumerrors.co is a great resource.

Practical effects are the best, however, with a well coordinated shoot you can get away with post effects. You will need to use small led lights to light up your actor and whatever real objects you have in your scene and then coordinate that with the virtual lights in post.
For light effects on text you may want to check out Saber – free plugin from Videocopilot.Tudor \”Ted\” Jelescu

September 22, 2016 at 9:03 am in reply to: Why multiple looping remap elements can’t play all together ?If I understand correctly your issue, you have to import the png sequence with the loop option selected and a high loop number that will cover any changes in length done with Time Remap. It would be best to have a much longer comp than what you actually need (4 min instead of 2 for example) so that you can see the keyframes at the end of your layers that have Time Remap on. Then you can adjust the Time remap and thus change the speed of the rotors without any issues.

September 21, 2016 at 9:40 am in reply to: How to film 1 person twice in the same scene…One other trick that may help is to use a body double – someone that is the same height and body type as the actor, dressed exactly the same- in the shots where the two characters are supposed to interact. Shoot both passes with actors switching roles (practice a lot to try to get similar timings- doing this on music or counts of 8 will help) and then roto the face of one character played by the actor in on one of the shots and match it on the second shot where the same character is played by the body double.

What frame rate are you working at? It seems to me you are describing various frame rates 05:29 to 06:00 would be a 30fps (29.97) and 05:24 to 06:00 would be a 25fps.

For something like this you can either go the 3D way with Blender like it was suggested or another 3D package and build a 3D body double, match the moves of the actor and have that interact with the 3D liquid, or go a different way and use FreeForm Pro by itself or with the AquaPack and create a combination of animated displacement maps and masks that can create the same effect. Either way it will be a lot of work. Good luck!

Look up Videocopilot’s free Saber plugin – it can be animated on masks or text or straight lines and it has a lot of animated presets to choose from.
