Bezier Warp could be used also to distort rectangular shapes – each one should be on a separate layer and the layer size should match the rectangle size.

Whatever font you use I would comp the clip on top of itself using the font as a track matte and adjust the Levels/Curves to a dark gray. This way you keep the texture and shadows on the board. Obviously you will have to roto or pull a luma key to comp the teacher on top.

You can use Adobe Media Encoder. There are many options but the classic QuickTime with Aimation or PNG codecs should do the trick.

The only thing that comes to mind is that the footage of the actress may be compressed using a codec that AE is not fond of. I remember reading about issues like that in CS6. Try converting that footage to a uncompressed codec and see if you still get the issue.

Create a comp the same aspect ratio of the face of your building.
Fill that comp with one paragraph of text, all “.” (dots)
Adjust the spacing of the dots and the aspect ratio to match the look you want for the windows.
Apply a “Animate In” / “Random Fade Up” preset (Text presets) and adjust the range, adding some intermediary keyframes to pause the fadeup.

What version of AE on what system (hardware and OS)

I got the same weird behavior when creating a rectangle like you did. However when I draw the rectangle using the pen tool it behaves like it should. That’s one question for the Adobe folks maybe?
