Although a bit confusing, I gather from your post that you are asking if one can generate flying birds using Particular. The answer is yes you can – there are several tutorials out there, just search on Google.
However you may want to look into Prticle Illusion- it has a flying bird preset that works really well.Tudor “Ted” Jelescu

I’m sorry to say but you will not be able to fix this and make it look like it never happened- the only way to do that is to re-shoot. however, this is what I would try:
Create a animated mask on a white solid that follows the banding- theoretically this should be constant, so you will need to create a loop- animate 2-3 such masks to be able to create that loop (not seeing the footage makes it impossible to tell exactly how many masks you need to animate and what feathering they should have). Put a black solid under and render out the loop. This is your matte. Composite the clip on top of itself using this matte and color correct to match the banding – probably you will need to apply color correction on both layers to bring them in some what of a visual harmony. It may work or it may not< but it seems to me in your situation that it may be worth a try.Tudor “Ted” Jelescu

Resize the 1080 comp in the Output module – as far as frame rate conversion, this was recently posted on the cow:

then render out the particle layer and then time remap.

AE has a 3d space in which 2d planes can be positioned- it also has cameras and lights that can be moved in 3d and can match those in a 3d app like Cinema 4D. However, AE does not natively import 3d objects that you can manipulate as you would in a 3d package, that’s why it’s called a 2.5D compositing software. There are plugins that allow you to bring in actual 3d models that interact with the camera and lights and can be animated in AE- The latest Zaxwerks Invigorator Pro is in my opinion the fastest. You can also use Photoshop CS5 – create a 3d layer in PSD, import the object there and open the PSD file in AE. It works but it’s still very slow for my taste.
The way AE works with C4D and other 3d packages is by integrating 3d animations done in those with effects, footage and 2.5D elements. You can have the AE camera match the one in C4D and the other way around, but you can’t “see” the 3d objects in AE unless you use one of the solutions described above.Tudor “Ted” Jelescu

Try pre compositing the particle layer and then time remap that.

Fire extinguishers, protection gear and a large room, concrete floor and walls, black non flammable matte paint. That’s what I used shooting some fire fx footage for an independent feature. It would be nice to be able to shoot at least 2K at a high frame rate- RED One or the like.
The camera should be quite far from the fire.
Colour does not matter that much since you can change that in post, what matters more is the substance that is used to generate the flames.
Charcoal and lighter fluid is what we used.Tudor “Ted” Jelescu

To be direct, it’s called bad footage, probably some sort of DV variation. So, either re-shoot with a higher quality camera, or bite the bullet and do the roto. There are some plugins out there that “clean out” DV artefacts, but I’m not convinced that they can help much.

I don’t think that it is possible- like any 3d system, objects or layers are brought in the 3d space at the centre, the reference point. Your solution, duplicating a layer and Alt + drag is the way to do it.
