For reflective stuff and for easy to follow instruction you should for sure check out The Gorilla over at https://greyscalegorilla.com

lots of great tutorials there on integrating with C4D and Ae too.

C4D Cafe has been my go to site for all things C4D since I picked it up. https://www.c4dcafe.com

Lots of great tutorials there and really helpful community and forum.
    cheers

Short answer ( for me anyway ) is yes.

I used to use Maya but switched to C4D because of its ease of use with After Effects. They go VERY well together.

Maya will always be more “technically advanced” but that can be one of its shortcomings especially for beginners.

Which effect(s) are you using at the moment?

Try playing around with several adjustment layers with different colour correction effects applied to them.
The first one I’d go for is ‘curves’. Play around with the settings there.

Also try the “tri-tone” and “colour link” effects. These you can use to sample colours from a real photo your choice.

You can always double up on these effects if you’re not getting the range of colours you need and can change the opacity of the adjustment layers to get a good mix.

    Goodluck!

I would mask/roto out the sky and have it as a seperate layer.. then either color correct it or swap it out for a night sky image.

Thanks guys and sorry for the late reply.

We painted ourselves too far into a corner to be able to use the methods you suggested but will reap the benifets when starting new projects.

    Thanks again

    Thanks for that, Adam!

It does appear to be a 64bit issue as you said.

Rendered out PNG’s and no worries!

    Thanks again

Thank you very much for your reply Cory I’ll try it out. I’m not actually camera mapping. Im using “cubic” projection. Does change things or am I totally off target? 😉
    Thanks again

January 29, 2010 at 11:58 pm in reply to: Motion Tile on full res

    Hi Dave,

    Thanks for the response.

I really have no idea whats going on.

It stops working whether I ram preview (full) of do a full render (full res) but works fine on half or anything else.

I believe your RAM issue theory but Ive never had the problem before.

Im animating the motion tile center position and there is quite a bit of movement (100,000 units in Y) so maybe that where the RAM issue kicks in? I dont know… still doesnt make a lick of sense.

I redid the whole thing using rendered still frames and some expressions but Im still very curious as to why oh why motion tile stops working on full res.

    Any further clues?

    Thanks again

    Hey Danny,

Do you have access to a 3d app and tracking software or are you planning on doing this all inside Ae?
