    Hello Cow,

Just trying to use the Shader Effector with an animated texture as a custom shader to animate the position of some clones. Is there any way to change/adjust the projection of the custom shader? Looking in the help module it said something to effect of ‘uv mapping is used in place of texture tags’. Is there anyway to change the projection from uv mapping to something like flat projection in order to have more control of the custom shader?

    Hope I’m being clear 😉

    Thanks again in advance

    Trevor

Probably the easiest way to do it is to use the texture tag from another object. For example, if want to apply a planar projection, create a plane and align it with the clones. Give the plane your texture and set the mapping the way you want it. Then (assuming you texture was in the color channel), set the Shader effector’s Shading>Channle to Color. That will bring up a texture tag link box below the channel button. Drag your texture tag from the plane into the texture tag link box.

    Hi Adam,

ive got a slightly different problem and thought you might be able to help – sorry about the hijacking!

Ive got a file set up as you describe, planar/frontal projection works fine as you suggest but I cant get my clones to react to camera mapping projection….? is there any reason for this?

Im happy to go with a work around at the moment, is there a way of baking a frontal projection?
