I’m seeing this issue (jaggy lines on renders that is not there prior) with AVCIntra footage.

This is material shot from Sony F5 at 25P and Panasonic P2 footage at 50i and After Effects generated name captions rendered ProRes 4444

With an AVCIntra sequence, rendering to ProResHQ with upper field first, it seems to have problems splitting progressive sources to 2 interlaced fields – resulting in jaggies and what appears to be single field renders. This is particularly pronounced on the name captions. Although weirdly they sometimes render OK.

I’ve left it rendering overnight with Max bit depth and Max quality ticked to see if that will cure the problem.

I think you want to set your audio preferences for all source clips to be mono (default is to ‘use file’)
– amend previously imported clips using right click ‘modify..’ menu

I use mono tracks for dialogue (that have been recorded split mono) but keep music/fx and other stereo sources as stereo – cuts down on number of timeline tracks needed. I really like Adobes audio implementation but it’s not always for the faint-hearted!

Sorry to hear you having issues. For balance, in this non-adobe place, I’ve been doing my first ‘real’ job on CC2014.2 the past few weeks and it has been superb, much better than I expected.

For PPro I’ve found that the Facebook group ‘moving to premiere pro’ to be about the most user-responsive place, also the forums.adobe.com can be good.

I can also attest that Adobe do respond to bug reports/feature requests and do implement them.

Now if I can get someone to offer paid work on fcpx, I’ll be all over it…

To answer my own question… in case it’s any use to anyone… then there are two shortcuts to adding transition – ‘add default transition’ and ‘add audio default transition’ – the latter takes the audio transition duration from the prefs… so I can at least have a 1.5 sec and a 3 frame transition

I’m in Pal land, where we mostly just deal with 25 frames a second

Are your project settings 24p?

Is there a motion adapter on each clip?

Is the audio in sync with the stuttering pictures?

Is the pull down definitely not visible on the raw camera files?

AEscripts have a duplicate frame remover script for After Effects but that’s take a long time to process and you would have to speed up the audio to compensate

That’s a way of working that I use – and I can see the merit in what you are asking.

Community.avid.com has a feature request forum (but don’t hold your breath)

As for using markers – the avid marker deletion is as quick as Fcp7 in my experience. Set your ffw/rew to stop at locators and hit delete once you have landed on the marker (or leave all the markers in place and delete them all from the markers window when you are done with your selects sequence.

If you ur add edits then just remove all match frames when you are done.

You might be better off using ‘create multi camera source sequence’ in Pr itself

You could do it via After Effects – create a comp (choose not to sequence layers) – then export as premiere pro project

CMD+ left/right arrow (or Fn + up/down arrow) will jog back/forward 1 frame

Fn + left/right arrows to jump to start / end of comp

Fn + alt + up/down to nudge (slide) selected layers 1 frame

Add Shift to jump in 10 frame increments
