  • Can I add my choice of transition duration?

Posted by Trevor Asquerthian on June 22, 2015 at 8:07 pm

In Avid I can add an audio dissolve and it prompts for a duration (and start/end/centre on cut) – any way of achieving that in PPro?

Seems that I have to add the default then modify. I can’t seem to save different durations as effect presets either

    Thanks for any help

you can change the duration (not alignment). in the preference>general>video transition default duration.

[Massimo Alberto Croce] “you can change the duration (not alignment). in the preference>general>video transition default duration.”

I figured that was all she wrote on this one…

Turns out sometimes I want that default to be 2 or 3 frames, sometimes 3 or 5 seconds….

To answer my own question… in case it’s any use to anyone… then there are two shortcuts to adding transition – ‘add default transition’ and ‘add audio default transition’ – the latter takes the audio transition duration from the prefs… so I can at least have a 1.5 sec and a 3 frame transition
