This is a well known bug as far as I know. Stick with Quicktime and get yourself a decent encoding app like ProCoder (PC) or similar for mpeg-2 encoding.

Everything is set up correctly. I’m beginning to think this is a bug. Have tried logging on as a different user, establishing a new user etc etc.
Have updated OS to 10.4.1 , re-installed FCP etc etc.
As mentioned before, Print to video is not a problem, only Edit to tape doesn’t work correctly. Anyone else having the same problem? -
And what was your solution? Did you just log on as a different user, and then it worked?

Did you guys figure out what the initial problem was? (Print to video works, but Edit to tape doesn’t). I’m experiencing the excact same problem after upgrading to FCP 5. Running decklink card, but with OS 10.3.9.

Got a message from my colleague today. It seems like their ‘puter had reset some of the parameters for NTSC / PAL, causing the problem. While they were working in PAL, some settings suddenly were set to NTSC. Well, thanks anyway guys, you’re the best:-)
