You could take the 30fps footage into Cinema Tools and conform it to 29.97.
Just out of curiosity, what camera did you use to get a 720p60 29.97 clip?

This might not help you, but did you backup your system before you updated? Can you copy that backup back to your main drive and try again?

Just curious if anyone has a workaround for this yet besides manually searching for the clip.

I think Gregor was talking about exporting just parts of a clip or clips and not the entire clip that he originally loaded in. But yes, you could just Reveal in Finder and use the original clip if you wanted the whole thing. Good thought Jigs.

From everything I have read, Motion 5 and Compressor 4 will work fine on their own. If you can’t find anyone on here that has tried it, you could install it on a backup drive first and see if it works.

And you could always cross your fingers that those little guys will eventually become In and Out points for the timeline. =) It wouldn’t be the first thing in FCP X that isn’t mentioned anywhere in the manual but is in the program in a currently unusable form (like the Audio Properties of Music, Dialog, Sound Effects, etc.).

Before OMF in Final Cut, you used to zero out all your audio and export each section (Dialog, Music, SFX) as a separate Mono/Stereo file. You can still do this in FCP X by just grouping together (Compound Clip) a certain type of audio and exporting it out as one long file. Not nearly as easy as an OMF but will get you by until we get that feature.

Under the Frame Controls settings of the Compressor DVD setting, is the Resize filter set to “Best”? If not try that as scaling from 1080p down to 720×480 for DVD really needs the Best setting for the cleanest looking encode.
