Can I use FCP-X stand-alone, in an FCS3 environment?
Posted by Mark Suszko on June 28, 2011 at 4:03 pmCan buy just Motion-x, and use it by itself, or does it require installing FCP-X to work? Anybody Know?

June 28, 2011 at 9:09 pmFrom everything I have read, Motion 5 and Compressor 4 will work fine on their own. If you can’t find anyone on here that has tried it, you could install it on a backup drive first and see if it works.

They run fine side by side. Actually, when you install FCPX, it puts FCS3’s applications into a folder called “Final Cut Studio”.
