  • You could use the Effects Control window to set keyframes and opacity levels on the built-in opacity effect for the first clip, then save it as an opacity preset. You can just drag and drop the effect on to any clip, thereafter.

    Jimmy ..

Its best to de-interlace when you export a frame. Right-click on the clip you are taking the frame from, select ‘field options’ and click ‘always de-interlace’.

No problem – just go here:

    uk.briefcase.yahoo.com/tonyneal@btopenworld.com

Open the Music folder and you will find an mp3 and an Audition .ses file.

E-mail if you have problems accessing the files.

    Cheers

I created a 3 minute piece using the samples on the Loopology CD supplied with Audition. It was my first attempt to create some usable background music with Audtion, having only dabbled with MIDI sequences and digital effects in Sound Forge previously. Although I found Audition to be less intuitive than Sound Forge, I managed to pull together some rhythm samples fairly quickly into a structure that sounded good enough to serve as a backing track for the images of a school artwork exhibition that I had just finished editing. Once I’d added and mixed some instrumental samples and spent a couple of hours editing and changing the pace and timing to match the visuals, the whole thing seemed to hang together – perhaps it was just beginners luck !
I don’t think you can prescribe any particular workflow for music composition, its all a bit too intuitive for that – you just pull together a few samples that sound good and see what happens. If it doesn’t work out, then give up and try again tomorrow !
I’ll definitely be using Audition with Loopology again – possibly to try to compose a piece and edit the video at the same time to get them to mesh perfectly – I like a challenge !

Yes, I used the Audition Loopology loops to compose a piece for a school Arts & Dance exhibition – the samples were excellent, very easy to mix & match, and nobody guessed that it wasn’t ‘real’ music !?
I’ll be using it again whenever the need arises, I get the time, and I want to avoid copyright issues.

Just hold the shift key down while you click on the clips you want to move, then drag them wherever you want, holding the ctrl key if you want to insert at the new position.

November 10, 2005 at 10:39 pm in reply to: What DVD creator do the pros use? i.e. Star Wars type menus?

The problem with Encore is that it does not have a workflow – you just have to blat your way through the counter-intuitive menu structure until you get what you want – the learning curve is steep. Compare this to say, Ulead DVD Workshop that has a workflow sequence of four screens: Capture, Edit, Menu and Build.

You can bring an MPEG into Workshop and be burning a simple test DVD with chapter points and buttons in a couple of minutes. Encore will do the clever stuff but its clunky, slow to refresh and still feels like a Version 1 product.

Just tried importing an M2T into PremPro 1.5.1 into an HDV project and got ‘File format not supported’. Looks like you’ll need Cineform !
