  • How can I make the most out of STILL image?

Posted by Movie Maker on December 24, 2005 at 8:09 pm

I want to use a still image from a clip but when I export it to After Effects, it looks a bit fuzzy with jagged egdes etc.

When I freeze a from it looks crystal clear in Premier but when I export it, it looks very rough.

I want to zoom in from about 5% to 45% but the picture looks ok in RAM preview, but not so good in DV AVI format saved to the hard drive and viewed through windows media viewer.

The finished project will be burned to DVD.

Any ideas to keep cyrstal clear still images when animating them across the screen would be appreciated.

    many thanks
    Happy Christmas

    Jimmy ..

Its best to de-interlace when you export a frame. Right-click on the clip you are taking the frame from, select ‘field options’ and click ‘always de-interlace’.

    Merry Xmas

Preview at any resolution other than 100% will not show accurate display. Best preview is to a TV.
