Well, depending on what version of FCP you’re using, you have options for what Prores you can use. In FCP 6 it’s either regular Prores and the HQ version. HQ is overkill, intended for RED or better footage (over 2k), and can cause problems that you can read about if you’d a search. Anyway, in FCP 7 there’re more choices as well. But you can’t go wrong with standard Prores! The HQ doesn’t mean HD…Prores will work with whatever resolution (720p, 1080i60, NTSC) you are working with and is almost always your best choice when using FCP. Hope that helps!
