First of all I doubt your monitor was calibrated properly which is the root of the problems you are seeing.
Not only does blue check need to be done but the gain and bias adjustments need to be done to verify the monitor is actually producing white and black properly.
Do you have a waveform monitor available and a dsc chart to confirm if your camera actual does have a green color bias.
Without first confirm which piece of the chain has the problem it is impossible to determine what is causing the problem or if it is indeed a misaligned Varicam. The problems could range from preset gains being off, white shading lens alignment, monitor gain and bias adjustments etc etc.
Does the facility or owner you rented the Varicam from have the necessary test gear (ie waveform, DSC chart, camera black out room lab) to setup a proper baseline reference for the camera. Until this is done all bets are off.
Listen to Leo and myself and hire yourself a properly qualified video engineer to set up the camera and or monitor so you are not chasing your tail out in the field.
The money will be well spent instead of wasting additional money in post to color correct errors caused by misaligned field equipment or operator error.

Yes I have seen it and was told it would be available tomorrow but just not shipping for the general public at large.
Due to the massive backorders on the HDX-900 Varicam P2 will not be available unless Fed ex is able to deliver them overnight for free.
Cmon dude get what you need today to start making money and producing solid ROI instead of speculating what next the next super hyped digital miracle could be.
With the price of the SDX-900 so low now you could have it paid off several times by the time the next digital marvel is actually released.

Yes for NTSC editorial this is true.
Verify in the Varicam vtr menu that the frequency rate is set to 59.94 not 60.00 hz.
If set to 59.94 when the camera is at 24P actual frame rate is 23.98 whereas when set to 60.00 24P is actually 24.00.

It is deliberately turned off especially for the firewire output to protect a user error “major f@# up” due to recording the menu or tc overlays to tape or hard drive when this was not the intended result.
However on the composite viewing output it should be an option as this is not generally used as an output for recording.

You should consider hiring someone experienced and qualified such as a DIT or video engineer to assist you in your quest to obtain the best image possible with the tools at hand instead of guessing if someone’s mystery scene files unrelated to your project will work.
FYI if you rent a camera from a qualified experienced digital cinematography facility the engineering staff may be able to build scene files for you based on your needs if not don’t expect someone else to give away their secret ingredients and expect nothing in return (ie a camera package rental or money for their time).
FYI the varicam does not shoot in dv 25 mode.

Yes of course it will you just need to dub the dvcpro tape material to HDCAM tape and all will be fine.
Unless of course you can jam in two to three dvcpro medium size tapes into an hdcam vtr to make up for the size differences.

Today I was able to get some of my own pressing technical questions answered by personally spending some time with the HDX-900.
I discovered the HDX-900 does not offer Vmod (disappointing not to see this critical maintance adjustment).
The manual lens shading saw and para for red, green and blue are a welcome feature compared to the automatic white shading feature found on the varicam and sdx.
I was able to rate the overexposure capabilities of the camera as well as record in both 720p and 1080i.
The downconverter for SD-SDI and VBS if used means you will lose one of the HDSDI outputs the remaining HDSDI output is on the side of the camera which is labeled mon out. It would have been much more beneficial to retain the two HDSDI outputs at all times and offer a third video output for the downconverted signals (ie which is what the Sony F900R can do).
The 1200A vtr will autosense what mode the camera recorded at which is great however the HDX-900 itself needs to have the system mode match the recording mode (ie you cannot record in 1080 and playback a 720p recording until you switch the system systems to reflect the original recording mode.)
However the internal 720 to 1080 uprezzing still needs a detailed explanation. Jeff I am sure others would appreciate a response on this question.
If you are not able or qualified to answer the specifics regarding the 720 to 1080 uprezzing can you direct me to someone who can?

If the disagreement is based on your employee status forget the lawyer and deal with your state labor board.

The importance of white shading and significant role it plays in improving the optical quality of the lenses you use on the camera is paramount in my opinion which is why I posed the question.
