What are the advantages or disadvantages of puting the camera in cine curves for film or the video gamma curve? In the cine curves settings, user cannot adjust the knee — is this a huge disadvantage? We are shooting a short film that will not be blown up to 35mm and we will also be shooting in the 25 dv mode. Also, if anybody has their scene files on file, can i please get it.
    Thanks for all your help

You should consider hiring someone experienced and qualified such as a DIT or video engineer to assist you in your quest to obtain the best image possible with the tools at hand instead of guessing if someone’s mystery scene files unrelated to your project will work.

FYI if you rent a camera from a qualified experienced digital cinematography facility the engineering staff may be able to build scene files for you based on your needs if not don’t expect someone else to give away their secret ingredients and expect nothing in return (ie a camera package rental or money for their time).

FYI the varicam does not shoot in dv 25 mode.
