Why didn’t DVCPRO HD not work? What happened? How did you convert it? What about the audio? Did you convert that as well?
Not all Flip cameras are the same. Mostly they shoot H.264.

It’s a poor workflow in FCP, but it can be done. You can edit any sequence into another sequence. You should probably use the merge clip function to combine the audio and the video.

FCE4 is based on FCP6. Yes, it will open the Express project file.

You can open the FCE project in FCP, but once it’s saved in FCP you will not be able to open it in FCE.

Not if you don’t have the folder structure. The files really say .m2t? Where did they come from? What camera shot them?

.mts is not the same as .m2t. You might be able to convert it with MPEG Streamclip.

You need to set the project properties of your LiveType project to match your sequence settings.

No, use Compressor of the QT pro player to convert it to a QuickTime movie.
