Don’t bother. Make it run on an Intel chip.

Actually I did throw away the media. I captured, not an hour, but 20 minutes of material. I made a number of different projects in which I treated the media differently. I then quit the application and trashed the media from the hard drive. It was no longer accessible. I then ran the media manager tests.

Unfortunately if you run the create offline function before you trash the media you’ll get the correct result. You’ll get a batch capture that only includes the media you edited. The procedure has to be edit your material, media manage and create your offline and then trash your media. Then you’ll have a project file that will have the limited media. Or if you edited with subclips or logged and captured, then at worst you’ll have to captured the used clips and the unused clips or subclips will not have to be recaptured.

That aborts the batch, but doesn’t skip the item I don’t think, unless it’s changed.

I misphrased that, only the subclips from which pieces of media were taken, will need to be recaptured. But the whole subclip will have to be recaptured, but only the subclips that were used.

The problem is a function of how your material was captured and how it was edited. All material doesn’t behave the same way. If you log and capture and only use some of the shots, those are the shots that will show up for capturing. If you capture big chunks and cut them into subclips, and then edit from the subclips, again, only those pieces of media that are in the used subclips will show up needing capturing. If you’re captured big chunks, and simply cut shots from the big chunks, it’s going to do what happens to you, wanting to capture everything from the big chunks of video. Yes, I’ve tried it.

In Media Manager use the (inappropriately named) Create Offline function from the first popup. For the format popup select the hirez format you want to recapture into.

    All the best,

You could do this in v4.

I ran some tests with MM on multiclips and didn’t find a problem. What MM function were you using? What’s the original material and its timecode?

  • I’m going to take it all back. I was wrong. I ran some tests and I’m not getting that behavior in 5.0.2. I know I saw it in earlier versions like 5.0 I think, but not sure what’s happening now. As it seems to work with speed correctly, simply pulling the frames it needs to make the slomo regardless of now I remap. If I pull a lot of frames from outside the slip area, from other parts of media, then it pulls extra frames in MM, but not beyond what’s needed to make the speed change.
