E-mail and high quality video are a contradiction in terms. Unless this is really, really short, like a few seconds, it’s not going to be able to be small enough to e-mail and still be decent quality. Can’t you put it up on web page somewhere for the client to see?

I think the reference movie only contains the render files if the sequence is not rendered. Then the export to the reference file has to render and it builds the renders into the QT reference file and they’re not accessible anywhere else. If the sequence is pre-rendered the reference file simple references the render files on your hard drive. That’s why it’s really dangerous to do reference movies for things you still working on. You change the sequence, the render file gets lost and the reference movie is broken and will not open.

You mean a multiclip. Right. That may be a problem if all the angles in the multiclips were taken from the same piece of media, but that wouldn’t be the case with you. Each of the cameras is a separate piece of media, so each of the subclips that make up the angles references a different bit of media on the hard drive. Without knowing more I can’t see why that would be a problem.

Just wanted to check that by “multigroup clip” you mean a merged clip. Is that right? or are you doing something else. I haven’t had experience with your particular situation, but I’ve not seen subclips acting unstable because they’re been merged, but it may be the case with very large chunks of video and audio.

The sizes you give for what Premiere does are the PAL sizes for DV and DV Anamorphic (though the horizontal res of the Anamorphic is incorrect as it should be the same as 4:3 DV, but that’s another discussion). It sounds as if you’ve placed 4:3 material into a 16:9 sequence, but the 4:3 shouldn’t be squeezed.

Where did this material come from? How did it get into your computer? What does Item Properties say about the specs of the material, frame size, frame rate, anamorphic yes or no? What are the item properties of the sequence you’ve put the material in? Do they match?

The terms of the license only say that you have to be legally eligible student or staff. It says nothing about profit or business. You can only use an education version while you’re an education eligible customer. If you no longer are, the license is revoked, and you need to purchase a retail copy.

The education version, as Steve says is not upgradeable, but it is crossgradeable to the UB version.

Not necessarily. iMovie only requires VANDA and deck control. It doesn’t take any TC information. You can find a set-up will work with iMovie and not with Final Cut because it has different device control requirements. A faulty cable can work in iMovie, but because of a bad pin connection will not work in Final Cut.
