HDV – Capture with DV deck???
Hi All
I ve just been given a few HDV cameras to use in our lab, and Im wondering can I use our JVC BR DV 3000 Mini DV deck to capture from (to acquire HDV)?
OR
What happens if an HDV recorded tape gets put onto one of out DV capture decks (the JVC)????
The HDV cameras are Sony HVR-A1E’s.I believe it to be a no go, but I need to be sure before our students get their hands on them….

HDV tape requires an HDV deck. The tape is the same, but the format recorded on it is different.

HenPS do you know what happenes when you stick a HDV tape in a DV deck and try and capture, out if interest…?

You get an error message that the media has no content.
