Tested it again, exporting one minute of AVCHD to current settings ProRes takes 2:57. One minute of AVCHD to H.264 takes 1:24.

Exporting to H.264 is faster than exporting to current settings.

You may not want to do that. There’s never going to be an update to the studio apps, but you probably don’t want to hide the current versions.

Rename FCP something like FCP. Install the studio suite. Gather all the studio apps into a Final Cur Studio folder. Rename FCP if you like.
