    Hi Glenn
Where can I purchase a Beatstop for Resolve? I can find the “generic” version online but not the version specific for Resolve with the labeled keys.
    Thanks, Tom

Thank you for the suggestion. I reinstalled v15 without first deleting v14 and it seems to have worked. I can get v15 to open now and it seems to be working so far.
    Thanks!

Looking at the system, it seems to have a AMD Radeon R9 M380 GPU and not an Nvidia GPU.

Not a problem. I use this iMac just for testing things like a new release. It did have projects on it, but nothing critical-mainly just test stuff.
Still, it would be nice if I could get the new version to actually load. This computer isn’t overly powerful, but it should meet the minimum requirements to at least load up.
I am getting a consistent error in the software Logs when I attempt to load the application. Anybody recognize it? I attempted to launch it at 5:36:48 on the Log.

You can’t beat the price on the Blackmagic Design Hyperdeck Studio Mini.

Well…I found a quick way to do this. Nit sure if it’s the right way but it works in this case.
Highlight the clip. Go to Clip Attributes>Audio. Change the clip from Mono to Stereo. In the pull down menu “Patch” the embedded Channel 1 audio to the right channel as well. Same audio will now be on both channels in the time line.

It would seem, at least for now, that SMR drives are substantially slower than PMR drives but they can hold huge amounts of data per platter.

You will probably need Closed Captioning as well. Just about every network requires this now…

How long are your finished sequences? 30 second spots? It really won’t matter one way or the other. Longer sequences or programs for broadcast-yes it still matters.
Video doesn’t run at a true 30fps but rather at 29.97/59.94 for broadcast. It’s a technical throwback to the days when TV was converting to color broadcasting and it’s still here.
Editing DF is pretty straight forward and transparent for the most part. It’s had time to work most the bugs out of the process. Do not fear drop frame! There can be a few problem areas. Audio layback to tape or files used to be an issue when the timecode modes were mismatched. Mismatched audio sample rates/frame rates still cause a lot of issues.
Editing NDF into a DF sequence shouldn’t be a problem. It’s the same number of frames-no actual frames are dropped. Only the timecode changes.
