Buy or rent a KiPro or a Hyperdeck. They both will take an SDI feed and record it in an easy to edit format.

Often you can just go to Time Code Set and simply push the reset button next to the Time Code/Counter switch. This will reset the timecode to all zeros. Usually after that you will need to press set button to take the new setting.

It will probably be OK. I don’t use Premiere but many applications are smart enough to add the 7.5% setup to an analog output. The control panel on some output cards (adapters/converters) will ask if you want to add setup on the output.n It just depends on how you are getting your finished video out-file based or direct output.

For broadcasting, yes they should be. Is this airing as true NTSC (analog) video or on a digital transmission? It it’s just running on a monitor or on cable, you can probably get away with the 0% levels. If it’s for broadcast on a digital TV station, that may be another story. Where will your videos be used?

Under Transitions>Quicktime folder, select “Iris” wipe. Double click on the wipe once it’s on the timeline. Select Wipe Type”Circle”. At the bottom of the window you will see a Border slider. It adjusts the width of the border. Right under that are controls for the color of the border. There is a check box for Softness as well.

What model camera are you using?
Why not simply go into your computer through the USB port rather than than the Thunderbolt port?

I’m trying to use Boris’ Chroma Key Studio in Resolve but something is not right. I can pull a clean key, but my background is black rather than showing the layer below it. I’m trying to do it just by dropping the filter on the clip itself in the timeline. Adding a serial node alpha channel didn’t seem to work either.
Any other Boris users out there with suggestions?

You wouldn’t think it would be necessary to add bars and tone when transferring a file, but you never know what the station does with the file once they receive it. There may be some reason they prefer it done that way. I’d just call them and ask what the best way would be to send the file. Maybe they have old information listed for their requirements.

Is it possible to simple revise the Photoshop graphics? It might be possible to make a new preset in Photoshop using the HDTV (Rec.709) color profile and then copy/paste the original files into the new template and put those newly created files back into your video. I’m not sure if it would work, but it’s a fast and easy test.

I’ve also herd suggested that using an adjustment layer over your entire spot and adding the Video limiting filter AND a color correcting filter–but making NO adjustments to the CC filter will clamp not only the Lum part of the video but also the Chroma as well.
I don’t edit with Premiere so I can’t test it, but give it a try and see what happens.
