The only thing is that the path won’t be closed (so the masking won’t be active), even it you cut/paste the first keyframe to the last. Make sure you select the path, then layer>mask>close.

If you have access to Maya, I would at least explore what it can do in terms of deforming a plane (which can look like a paper flapping as in the commercial). There are deforming tools, bend, wave, etc., that are relatively a quick learn. Although Maya live it a bit more of a challenge as has been previously posted. It’s been my experience that although Maya is not that intuitive (and not the only 3D program) and has a steep learning curve, there are some things that just look better in a real 3D program. It can be frustrating to work with, but it also could open new options for you down the road

Yes that one is sweet. I like this one below a bit better because there are more 3D elements in it, like the world tour. I would say that this is a mix of compositing software (Possibley AE) an d 3D software.

“My 3D software will only allow me to render 30fps”
As long as your 3D software allows you to import sequences you are not limited to FPS. I’m assuming (always a mistake) that you are concerned about 29.97 compared to 30 fps? I would animate assuming 30 fps, and interpet that in AE at 29.97. Unless you’re lip synching there shouldn’t be a problem

I’m not sure exactly what you are saying. Do you want to know how to get that “sound?”

Well you can “parent” them. Isn’t that what you’re looking for?

One other thing to point out is that a realistic bubble has a significant amount of relection on it. If possible you may consider locating a friend/place with 3D capabilities. Just a suggestions.

I believe “echo” might be a good place to start based on your post. I’m not that familiar with Smallville.

One thing I might try is to create a new PSD the same size and if there are layers, cut and paste them one at a time into the new file giving each layer the same name and save the whole file under a different name. Then either replace or import the footage.
I think it would be worth a try.
