I might add that you don’t have to deal with the QT/Mac, WMV/PC struggle as long as the flash plug in is there.

    Works great for my stuff!

If I’m understanding the problem, I would try to narrow down where the problem is coming from. Did you play the clips in the standalone QT player? If it isn’t there, then AE is the problem. If AE is the problem, it could be a couple of thing, even the way that it is interpreting your footage. I’d make sure that your footage is brought in at the same rate, size, etc., as you exported it from Avid. If that’s OK, try rendering the project with the effect off.

    That’s where I would start.

I might be missing the question a bit, but what I would do is:

Create a blinking cursor in a comp (as long as you need for the “master comp”)
Then I would just create the whole text/sentence with glow or whatever you want ot simulate the look
bring both into a “master Comp:”
animate a mask to reveal the computer text.
animate the cursor’s position or anchor to follow the revealing type.

As I say I might be misunderstanding the question, but that is what I would do.

This is a good question. I think it has more to do with OS and the default program for opening up a photo. For PSD, mine will open in PS, but for a jpg, it opens up with the preview. For now, what I’ve been doing is right clicking and “show in finder,” right click on that picture and “open with PS.” I would love to change all to PS.

I don’t have an answer, but maybe someone here does……

First make sure in your view options you’re viewing handles. Select both KF’s and right click and goto keyframe interpolation. Make sure that it is set to bezier in the comp window. Then you should be able to shape your curve.

Not a bad idea except that I need the animated stroke to go along with it.

    Thanks,

If I understand what you’re asking you can drag one comp off of the timeline to undock it. Then you can move it where you want to.
