  • duplicating animated mask to new location

I have an animated mask on a layer. It is kind of like a revealing bouncing bubble (for lack of a better description). I like it’s animation so I want to duplicate the mask and animation. No problem so far. BUT, I would also like to move the second bubble to a new location on this layer. When I select all of the points and move it, it just makes a new KF in the timeline and returns to the location of the original bubble for the rest of the mask animation. Hope I’m clear here. Does anyone have an idea on how to move the whole mask and all of it’s shape animation to a new location?

    Thanks,
    T.

Duplicate the entire layer and use it as a mtte on another duplicate. you can move them around wherever you like this way.

Not a bad idea except that I need the animated stroke to go along with it.

    Thanks,

First make sure your position line is over one of the mask key frames

Highlight all the masks key frames (simply click on the work ‘mask shape’ on the next to the stop watch)

Now move the mask to where you want it (at that point in time obviously)

Now all the key frames will be similarly offset.
